Maldives Immigration says on average 1192 tourists arrived per day in the country in November.

In a tweet, Immigration said this a 72 percent increase in daily arrivals with 694 tourists arriving on average per day in October and 218 tourists arriving on average per day in September.

Immigration said that a total of 35, 759 tourists arrived in the country in the month of November and that this was a 66 percent increase in arrivals.

It said that the maximum number of tourists who arrived in a single day reached 2299 in November while this number hit 1475 in October and 696 in September.

Immigration also said most of the tourists who arrived last month came from Russia with 8581 Russians visiting the Maldives last month. It also said 7610 Indians arrived in the Maldives in November while 2093 Americans made the trip to the island nation last month.

The Maldives has become a popular destination among European markets in recent months with many from the continent choosing the newly crowned ‘World’s Leading Destination’.
