Police rescue a victim who was kidnapped by a group of assailants in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll Thinadhoo today.
Police said that the report of the kidnapping came at around 17:00 in the evening. It said that the police had successfully conducted an operation to rescue the victim and had also arrested 4 suspects in relation to the case.
Police said that the four men arrested regarding the kidnapping are all local and include a 38-year-old, a 27-year-old, a 45-year-old, and a 52-year-old.
It said that Police were further investigating the case and did not divulge any more information about the victim or incident.
Recently, a kidnapping was reported in Male’ where a young woman who went missing returned home and claimed that she had been kidnapped and blackmailed by a group of men.
The family had reported the incident to the Police and the Police had later apprehended a 31-year-old in relation to the case.
