Health Protection Agency HPA has confirmed that a local woman had died from COVID-19 in the country today.
In a tweet, HPA said that today at 02:38 pm, a 45 yr old Maldivian female admitted at Hulhumale Medical Facility ICU has passed.
HPA confirmed that she is the 41st person to die from COVID-19 in the Maldives and the third person to die from the pandemic this month. Earlier this month an 88-year-old local man and a 43-year-old Bangladeshi man had died from COVID-19 in the country.
The 41 individuals who died from the pandemic in the country include 34 locals and 7 foreigners.
Health Protection Agency said yesterday that the total number of COVID-19 cases reported in the Maldives has now reached 12,009 with 23 new cases reported on Monday.
HPA also confirmed that the number of recoveries has now reached 11,132. It said that there 830 active cases of COVID-19 in the country and 225 remained at state manned isolation facilities. HPA added that 52 COVID-19 patients remained hospitalized for further treatment.
