Health Protection Agency HPA says a local woman has died from COVID-19 in the Maldives in the early hours of Sunday.
In a tweet, HPA said that earlier today at 03:55 am, a 58-year-old Maldivian woman admitted at HMF ICU has passed away.
She is the fourth person to succumb to COVID-19 in the Maldives this month and the 32nd person to die from the pandemic in the country since April.
Earlier this month, a 79-year-old local man and a 60-year-old local man had died from COVID-19 in the Maldives. Authorities had also declared that a 58-year-old who died in Kulhudufushi on the 8th of this month was a COVID-19 death. The individual was battling cancer and had tested positive for COVID-19 posthumously.
Authorities in the Maldives have confirmed that 9052 individuals in the Maldives have tested positive for COVID-19 since the country confirmed its first case back in March. Authorities also report that 7055 of those have now recovered from the illness.
