A minor who had earlier tested positive for Covid-19 from Dhaal atoll Kudahuvadhoo, has been reportedly admitted at the ICU of Covid Managment Facility in Gan of the same atoll.
Meanwhile, Gan Regional Hospital concurs the information noting a child below the age of 18 has been admitted at the ICU of the facility sometime on Saturday afternoon.
On 1 September, Kudahuvadhoo authorities confirmed discovery of positive cases in a 1 month infant and a 3 year old child. In addition to this, positive cases reported from the island had included a 24 year old female and a 34 year old male, both locals of the island.
Though not confirmed, reports suggest the positive cases all belong to the same family.
Maldives is currently observing wide-spread community outbreak of Covid-19 disease with as many as 30 different islands reporting active cases, while total number of cases in the country have increased to 8,361.
