The High Court has scheduled former President Abdullah Yameen’s appeal hearing for tomorrow at 13:00 pm.
The High Court scheduled this hearing after the ex-President appealed the Criminal Court’s sentence against him in which the court found Yamin guilty of money laundering.
The High Court had previously scheduled an appeal hearing for the case on the 5th of this month but the hearing did not take place as the ex-President was left isolated from his defense team.
His lawyers also said that the legal team had requested that the hearing be canceled in light of the COVID-19 situation in the capital city.
Although the situation has not improved, the former President was granted a meeting with his legal team after 5 months on the 24th of this month.
The ex-President is currently battling three separate court cases filed against him including two counts of money laundering and 1 count of accepting bribes.
