Health Protection Agency HPA has revealed that more than 5000 individuals who had tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives have since recovered from the illness.

It is COVID-19 update today, HPA said that 111 people had recovered from the illness today alone. It said that this has in turn taken the total number of recoveries in the country to a promising 5026.

A total of 7667 individuals have now tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives.

Meanwhile, HPA said that the number of active cases of COVID-19 has now decreased from 2619 to 2587 in the last 24 hours.

HPA also said that the number of hospitalized individuals also reduced from 184 to 181 from yesterday while 1486 individuals remained under isolation at various facilities across the country.

Authorities have tightened the restrictive measures taken against the pandemic by banning vehicular activities from 8 pm to 5 am in the Greater Male’ Area while authorities have also been imposing a 7-hour curfew in the capital to further restrict movement and prevent the spread of the pandemic that has claimed 28 lives in the island nation.
