Daughter of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom and Minister of Arts, Culture, and Heritage Yumna Maumoon says her mother and father were doing well at the moment.
In a tweet, Yumna said that her father’s health was improving and that her mother was doing well too. Former President Maumoon had tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week and is considered a high-risk COVID-19 patient at the age of 82 years.
Minister Yumna thanked all the well-wishers and said that she herself was under home quarantine for 14-days.
Yesterday, Maumoon’s son and MP for Thaa Guraidhoo constituency Ghassan Maumoon had confirmed that he had tested negative for COVID-19.
He had also thanked that doctors and nurses fighting the pandemic in the country saying that upon seeing their tireless efforts up close, he cannot be anything but thankful for their sincere services.
