Health Protection Agency HPA confirms that a Bangladeshi man under treatment for COVID-19 had died earlier tonight.
In a tweet, HPA said that tonight at 08:02 pm, a 62-year-old Bangladeshi man admitted at DH16 has passed away.
HPA said that the person tested positive for COVID-19 on 16th August.
He is the 9th person to die of the pandemic this month alone in the Maldives and the 26th person to die from the pandemic since it reached the country’s shores last march.
Earlier today, HPA had reported that an 82-year-old local man had succumbed to COVID-19 while under treatment at Hulhumale’ Medical Facility HMF.
Twenty locals and 6 foreigners have passed away from COVID-19 in the Maldives since April.
