The victim of a fire incident that happened earlier this month at Velana International Airport has succumbed to the injuries sustained in the accident.
Sources have confirmed to ‘The Press’ that the airport staff injured in the incident that occurred on the 10th of this month died while under treatment at the ICU of Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital IGMH.
Maldives Airports Company Limited MACL had said that the fire incident happened at the eastern side seaplane fuel storage depot and that the first was quickly extinguished by the ARFF team.
It had confirmed that a MACL staff had been injured in the incident and that the internal investigation has already started by the safety department.
MACL is yet to release the findings of its internal investigations into the incident.
