Authorities on Wednesday reveal a total of 7 staff employed at Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure have tested positive for Covid-19.
The development has been attested by Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) on Wednesday, adding the staff were all employed under the ministry's Public Works section.
While 7 staff of the ministry have been confirmed with Covid-19 virus, health authorities claim discovery of 148 positive cases in the last 24 hours.
Moreover, health authorities confirm the latest positive case batch include 117 Maldivians with 22 Bangladeshis, 7 Indians and one each from Nepal and Seychelles.
As of Wednesday the total number of active cases have surged to 1,869 subsequently spiking total number of cases from the country to 4,594 - inclusive of both recoveries and active cases.
