Health Protection Agency HPA has reported 64 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours as the last lockdown ease enters a new week.
In its latest tweet, HPA said that the new cases include 44 Maldivians, 17 Bangladeshi nationals, 2 Indians and 1 Nepalese national.
With this addition, the total number of cases has now reached 2617 in the Maldives.
The positive cases of COVID-19 include 987 locals as well as 1311 Bangladeshi nationals. It also includes 231 Indians and 45 Nepalese nationals.
Meanwhile, HPA also confirmed that 58 individuals have recovered from the illness today. This takes the total number of recovered to a promising 2238.
Only 361 individuals remain under treatment for COVID-19 in the country. HPA also confirmed that 300 people remained under isolation while 97 individuals have been placed under quarantine.
The Maldives has reported 13 COVID-19 deaths including 8 Maldivians and 5 foreigners.
The government implemented the 3rd phase of the lockdown ease on the 1st of this month with government offices and schools reopened and cafés, restaurants, and gyms allowed to resume services.
