Health Protection Agency HPA reports that more than 2000 people have recovered from the COVID-19 global pandemic in the Maldives as the country adapts to life under the new normal.

In its latest tweet, HPA said that 54 people have recovered from the virus in the Maldives today and that a total of 2030 individuals have now recovered from the illness in the country.

HPA also said that this means that the active cases of COVID-19 in the Maldives have now dropped to 390.

Meanwhile, HPA also confirmed that 25 people tested positive for COVID-19 in the country today.

HPA said that this includes 19 Maldivians, 4 Bangladeshis, 1 Indian, and a Nepalese national.

With today’s positive cases, 2435 people have now tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives. HPA said that 269 remained under isolation while 112 were quarantined at various facilities and locations.

The Maldives has recorded 10 deaths relating to COVID-19 including five locals and five foreigners. All the locals who died of COVID-19 were above 80 years of age.

The foreigners who died of the highly contagious illness include four Bangladeshi nationals and one man from the Philippines.
