Maldives Police Service have commented they will be taking necessary action against individuals found in violation of the curfew hours during new normal.
According to the state, locals in Greater Male' Region are not allowed outside between 22:00hrs to 05:00hrs everyday.
Local law enforcement authority claimed individuals found outside without permit or valid reason will be charged for breaching the regulations set in place during the new normal.
Among the penalization, fines as well as arrests will be subjected towards violators.
As part of the eases on restrictive measures, government imposed permitted hours for public to go outside which is effective from 05:00hrs until 22:00hrs.
Meanwhile, businesses conducting delivery services have been ordered to cease their delivery operations after 22:00hrs every evening.
Earlier, Greater Male' Region came under a total lockdown on 15 April when the first positive case of Covid-19 was discovered from mainland Male' City.
During the lockdown, public were restricted from going outside without relevant permits.
Maldives Police claim a total of 9,211 individuals have been fined so far for violating the lockdown regulations and 602 individuals were arrested for repeated breaches.
Moreover, it was reported that the total amount of fine for violating the regulation have reached to MVR9.2 million, as each violation amounts for MVR1,000.
