Health Ministry’s Assistant Director Aminath Shaina Abdullah says individuals living in the greater Male’ area would not need a permit for movement starting from the 15th of June as authorities allow major eases to the current lockdown.

Briefing the media on the lockdown eases, She said that individuals would be allowed to move without a permit between 5 am to 10 pm.

She explained that certain groups of individuals could go out at allocated times and said that elderly citizens can continue going out between 5 am to 8 am each day. She went on to say that children are recommended to go out between 4 pm to 6 pm and an adult must accompany those children that go out.

Shaina said that those who wish to exercise could go out between 6 pm to 9 pm.

She also said that the current restrictions would remain in place until the 14th of June and new eases would take effect on the 15th of this month.

Shaina also said that even though the public is allowed to go out without a permit, authorities are recommending individuals to restrict their movement as much as they can and to always follow the instructions given by the health experts.
