According to latest updates, domestic travel between islands will be permitted by government around August.
Maldives government on Wednesday, 27 May, announced eases on restrictive measures on the lockdown across the Greater Male' region and the travel restrictions across the country.
Sources further claim the domestic travel ease will come under phases with safety measures tightened, including adhering to conduct in curbing viral disease contact.
Though public transportation between islands will be permitted by August, domestic travels for cargo trips have been permitted by government.
The restrictive measures will be eased up under three separate phases, with the first phase lasting within a month's duration. The phase is expected to commence in its first stage during first two weeks of June, and the second stage of the phase in the last two weeks of the same month.
According to state, the second phase will stretch to a two-month duration.
