National Emergency Operations Center NEOC spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez says police have taken action against 102 individuals who had violated lockdown rules yesterday.
Speaking to local journalists last night, Mabrook said that police had fined 92 individuals who had broke lockdown rules and arrested 10 individuals for violating the regulations.
Mabrook also said that police have issued delivery permits to some 2800 businesses since the Male’ Area was placed under lockdown. He added that police have issued grocery permits to 3100 households.

According to this information, most people were fined for violating lockdown rules on the 6th of May, and 13 people were arrested. Sunday that fell on Eid-Al fitr saw a record number of people fined for breaking lockdown rules with over 234 fined on that day.
The Greater Male’ Area has been under lockdown since the 15th of April following its first of Covid-19. The lockdown is set to expire on the 28th of this month with the government promising to ease the restrictive measures taken against the Covid-19 global pandemic especially in the capital city.
