Health Protection Agency HPA has reported two more positive cases from Male’ as authorities gear up for the worst-case scenario of the global pandemic in the country.

In a series of tweets this morning, HPA confirmed that a sample taken from a direct contact of case 27 has also tested positive. HPA said the person showed Covid-19 like symptoms. HPA said that this was the 10th person to test positive for Covid-19 and is now being moved to an isolation facility.

Meanwhile, HPA has confirmed that a direct contact of case 28 has also tested positive for Covid-19 having shown virus like symptoms.

HPA added that this individual is the 11th person to test positive for the virus and that now being transported to an isolation facility.

Thirty-one individuals have now tested positive for Covid-19, 11 from Male’ alone.

The Greater Male’ Area is now under a 14-day lockdown with Police enforcing the lockdown using stricter measures.
