Health Protection Agency HPA says a sample taken from a Maldivian national who was a Direct Contact of the positive case reported earlier today has tested positive for Covid-19.
In a tweet, HPA said that this was the second person to become positive for Covid-19 in Male’ today. HPA also said that the person is in an isolation facility. This is the 7th Maldivian to test positive for the global pandemic.
Earlier today, HPA announced that a Maldivian national who sough treatment at Male’ Flu clinic had tested positive for Covid-19. HPA had said that the individual had no recent travel history or has not met a previously positive case.
In light of this case, HPA had ordered a 24 hour lockdown of Male’ City including Male’, Villimale’ and Hulhumale’.
Also HPA raised the alert status of Male’ to Red-Level 4 in relation to the case.
