State Trade Organization STO has slashed prices for onions, eggs and potatoes.
STO said its outlets would now sell 1kg of onions for MRF 11 and a sack of onions for MRF 255. STO had previously sold 1 kg of onions for MRF 15 and a sack of onions for MRF 325.
STO also said it would lower the cost on eggs and would now sell one egg for MRF 1.50 and that a case of eggs would now cost MRF 260. That is MRF 30 lower than the previous selling price.
The Company also said 1 kg of potatoes would now be sold for MRF 12 and that a sack of potatoes would now cost MRF 250.
With global economy taking a massive hit by global pandemic Covid-19, STO said it was working to ensure that its shelves remain full during these trying times.
STO said the shipment of foodstuff that arrived from India on the 8th of this month, contained onion, potatoes and eggs.
Earlier this month Government announced a ceiling price for these products after considering the impacts of Covid-19 on the country’s economy.
