The President's Office Under-Secretary and official spokesperson on COVID-19 developments in Maldives, Mabrouk Abdul Azeez has confirmed a total of 800 individuals in quarantine facilities have been discharged.
While briefing local media during Sunday's press conference at Dharubaaruge convention center, Mabrouk confirmed the number of individuals discharged from quarantine facilities so far.
Mabrouk also confirmed a total of 9,663 resort employees have been granted permission to leave the tourist properties of their employment after a 14-day period counted from the last tourist's departure off the land.
The standard procedure in light of the COVID-19 pandemic's spread in Maldives, cites all resort employees will be barred from leaving out of the island for a 14-day period of quarantining post the departure of the last tourist from any such tourist property.
Meanwhile, health authorities confirm a total of 11 individuals held in isolation facilities for close monitoring while 907 individuals were kept in quarantine facilities for screening.
Maldives have confirmed a total of 20 positive cases for COVID-19 out of which 14 have recovered; 13 expatraites and 1 local. Meanwhile 4 remain in treatment after testing positive for the viral disease.
