Health Protection Agency HPA says a Maldivian national quarantined in Eriyadhoo facility has tested positive for Covid-19.
In a tweet HPA said, that the individual was quarantined having returned from the Philippines. HPA said that the individual has now been transferred to the Velidhoo Isolation Facility.
This is the fifth Maldivian to test positive for the disease.
Four other Maldivians who came back from the UK have also tested positive for Covid-19. All four are currently under treatment.
A total of 20 individuals have now tested positive for Covid-19 here in the Maldives with 13 recovered from the highly contagious illness.
