Health Protection Agency HPA says the Maldivian who tested positive for Covid-19 has recovered from the illness.

Speaking to the media, HPA’s Medical Officer Dr. Nazla Rafeeq said the Maldivian national who tested positive for the illness in Malaysia has recovered and has since been released from the hospital.

Dr. Nazla said it has not yet been determined when the individual contracted the virus.

But she said contact tracing for the individual was underway and that officials were checking if the individual had contact with any of the Maldivians that were brought back from Malaysia on the 8th of this month.

The repatriation flight scheduled to Malaysia by national carrier Maldivian brought back 197 Maldivians living in the country.
