Health Protection Agency HPA says 33 staff from Joali Maldives resort have been placed under isolation after they came in contact with the foreign National who had tested positive for Covid-19 having departed Maldives.
Speaking to the media, official spokesperson for Covid-19 related updates in Maldives Mohamed Mabrouk Azeez said 33 employees from Joali Maldives are believed to have made contact with the foreign National who worked for the resort as well as R. Bodufushi Resort.
Both resorts are under the same management.
Mabrouk said so far 21 samples have been taken in relation with this case.
He highlighted that in addition to the resort staff, airport transport crew, and airport ground crew as well flight crew are believed to have made contact with positive individual.
The Turkish international traveled back on the 31st of March and Maldivian authorities were informed of the positive result on 6th of April.
Both Joali Maldives and R.Bodufushi Resort are under monitoring.
