Official Spokesperson for Covid-19 related updates in Maldives Mohamed Mabrook Azeez says a total of 325 individuals have been released home from various quarantine facilities established across the country.

Speaking to the media, Mabrouk said 28 individuals were released home from quarantine facilities today and that takes the total released home to 325 individuals.

Individuals placed under quarantine are released home once they complete their 14-day mandatory separation period and also after they test negative for the Covid-19 virus upon completion of their quarantine.

Additionally, Mabrouk said a total of 2350 samples have so far been taken with 2059 samples already tested negative. He added that 272 samples remained pending in the laboratory as of 20:00hrs this evening.

The official spokesperson said 12 individuals remained in the isolation facilities and that 1019 individuals are now under quarantine.

Nineteen people have tested positive for Covid-19 here in the Maldives including four Maldivians. These four Maldivians all traveled back from the UK and are now the only Covid-19 patients under treatment.
