Changes have been brought to the administrative procedures of Maldives Civil Court due to State of Public Health Emergency in light of the viral pandemic outbreak.

The changes to its administrative policies have come following an initial change-up on the procedures on 16 March 2020.

Civil Court's administration has detailed on trial arrangements, which will become effective on Thursday of the current week.

Under the new administrative procedure, trials or appeals can be lodged to the court on their mail address. In addition to this, the court request to mail them on their mail address any other legal documents under any purpose.

Additionally, Civil Court has urged claimants or appellants to register at the court while lodging their cases. Claimants or appellants will be contacted on the contact details provided on the registration form.

Parties to the case, claimant or appellant, may inquire about the case reports on the designated email address; [email protected] as per the court.

State institutions, along with Maldives parliament as well as judicial bodies have shifted its normal working procedures in light of the viral pandemic as the government announced closure on all such venues.

All public or state venues will render services through specific administrative policies to ensure state's attempt in controlling the possibility of the viral pandemic's spread remains effective.
