Indhiraa Gandhi Memorial Hospital IGMH says critical care training for all practicing doctors and nurses are continuing swiftly.

IGMH said doctors and nurses from the hospital as well as ADK and Tree Top are also taking part in these trainings and that they are ongoing.

The decision to train all practicing doctors and nurses in the country in critical caregiving was taken on the 21st of March.

Pulmonologist Dr. Moosa Hussan, one of the doctors leading the Covid-19 taskforce, has said that healthcare professionals need to given critical care training, as 15 % of the patients who have complications after being infected with Covid-19 virus need such delicate care. He has said these professionals should now how to manage ventilators if the need arises.

Dr. Moosa has said that the technical team aims to train all the doctors and nurses in critical care training.

He said once the training is complete the healthcare professionals can manage complications that surface while a covid-19 patient is under treatment.
