The Male Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) celebrated its 25th anniversary on Wednesday, 01 April 2020.
MWSC was established on 01 April 1995, in order to provide adequately functioning water grids and sewerage systems in Male' City; which was experiencing a boom of internal migration.
At its inception, MWSC commenced operation with just 60 employees providing a total of 10,447 cubic-meters of water to a population of 60,000 people - residing in Male' City.
Today the company has expanded its operations with over 900 employees, providing over 43,300 cubic meters of water to half of the Maldivian population.
The water and sewerage based utility company attests their aim remains to provide clean water and a functioning sewerage system to the Maldivian population.
