Health Protection Agency HPA says another Maldivian has tested positive for Covid-19 here in the Maldives.
In a tweet HPA said the individual has been under quarantine after arriving in the country.
HPA said the individual was placed under quarantine at the Royal Island quarantine facility.
With this, two Maldivians have now tested positive for Covid-19 in Maldives.
Authorities said on Friday that a 38-year-old Maldivian who came back from the UK has also tested positive for the virus.
The individual travelled back on the 22nd of this month and was tested having shown symptoms of Covid-19 on the 25th of March.
With HPA’s announcement, 17 people have now tested positive for Covid-19 in Maldives with 2 of those individuals departing the country on Friday.
