Health Protection Agency HPA says two more patients who had tested positive for Covid-19 have now recovered here in Maldives.

This takes the total number of patients who recovered from the virus up to 11.

Speaking to the media today, IGMH Dr. Muaz Moosa said 2 of the patients being treated for the global pandemic in Maldives have now recovered and have been declared free of the virus.

Authorities said16 people have been tested positive for Covid-19 in Maldives, this includes two Italians who travelled back to their country yesterday. HPA officials have said the result for their tests came back after they departed from the country.

Out of the remaining 14 people tested positive for the virus, only three is under treatment as the other 11 people have been declared freed from the deadly virus. One of the individuals being treated includes a Maldivian who had contracted the virus.

Officials have said the individual is generally well.

Government has taken several measures to quell a massive outbreak of Covid-19 including the disinfection of the greater male area region.
