Official government spokesperson on Covid-19 Mr. Mabrouk Azeez says quarantine facilities across the country are hosting more 700 individuals.
Addressing the media, Mr. Mabrouk said approximately 737 people are currently quarantined at various facilities set-up to fight the crisis.
Detailing the numbers, Mr. Mabrouk said 18 people are now residing in the Velidhoo quarantine facility while three are being quarantined at Dharumavantha hospital. He added that the quarantine facility set-up in Farukolhu fushi is now vacant.
Mr. Mabrouk also said while one person was quarantined in the hulhumale facility, the quarantine facility in Fun Island is hosting 64 people. He added that with 41 now quarantined in Biyadhoo, an additional 114 people are now being quarantined in kuda Bandos.
Mr. Mabrouk said while Dhiggiri quarantine facility was hosting 32, Holiday Island has 150 and the quarantine facility in Royal has a further 176 people. He added that villivaru quarantine facility is hosting 31 people and two of those are being quarantined on a Safari vessel. He said while Madivaru quarantine facility is hosting 96 people Kandimaa Maldives is currently vacant.
Thirteen individuals have so far tested positive for Covid-19 in Maldives with 8 now cured of the virus. Authorities said the rest of the five patients were still being treated for the virus and that their condition is generally well.
