The cumulative total of tax revenues as of 12 March 2020, the 10th week of the year, has reached MVR3,588.8 million (MVR3.6 billion).

According to the Weekly Fiscal Development published by Ministry of Finance, the cumulative total of non-tax revenues as of the review week has reached MVR531.5 million.

The figures for both tax revenues and non-tax revenues are lower compared to the corresponding period in 2019.

In 2019, it was reported the cumulative total of tax revenues reached MVR3,715.8 million (MVR3.7 billion) in the 10th week and the cumulative total of non-tax revenues hit MVR798.7 million.

Goods and Services Tax (GST) maintained as the strongest revenue contributor with a cumulative collection of MVR1,731.9 million (MVR1.7 billion).

Under GST, the Tourism Goods and Services Tax (TGST) has reached a cumulative total of MVR1,192.4 million (MVR1.2 billion) while General Goods and Services Tax (GGST) has hit MVR539.5 million.

Business and Property Tax has reached MVR1,067.7 million (MVR1.1 billion), under which Business Profit Tax (BPT) has reached MVR916.4 million.

Green Tax has made a cumulative collection of MVR141.0 million and the cumulative total on Import Duties have reached MVR417.1 million.

On the non-tax revenues end, fees and charges levied by Maldives government on various purposes have made the strongest contribution with a cumulative total of MVR318.2 million.
