A second Maldivian who had flown in from Spain has been quarantined by Health Protection Agency (HPA) of Maldives.
HPA confirms the Maldivian who flew in from Spain on Monday, was sequestered off to the isolation treatment center at Farukolhufushi to assess possible presence of the COVID-19 virus.
According to the agency, the local had shown suspected symptoms of the viral pandemic.
The Maldives has increased its efforts to screen all outbound passengers entering into the island nation.
On Sunday, one more local was quarantined by HPA for possible presence of the diesease while the authority further confirmed the individual had flown in from Spain.
Meanwhile the Maldivian government announced temporary travel restrictions on many European countries that includes Spain along with parts of France, Germany and Italy.
Other countries which currently does not have gateway entrance to Maldives include Bangladesh, Iran, China along with two provinces of South Korea.
So far the island nation has confirmed a total of 13 positive cases; all reported from foreigners.
