The construction industry magnate and prominent businessman Mohamed Ali Janah has been appointed as the President of National Federation of Maldivian Employers.

The National Federation of Maldivian Employers (NFME) acts as parent organization, with several associations and corporate representative NGOs under its umbrella which include Restaurant Association, Construction Association and Yacht Operators Association.

Mr. Janah became the organization's president at its first annual general meeting on Sunday evening.

NFME is a member of the The International Organization of Employers (IOE) run under the International Labor Organization (ILO).

At the annual general meeting, the organization had appointed its deputy presidents.

The NFME meeting was also attended by ILO ambassador to Maldives and Sri Lanka Simrin Singh and prominent employees activist Ravindra Pirish.

Mr. Janah ensured the various degrees of conflict and problems faced by various sectors including the tourism industry, can be solved through proper dialogue.

While Mr. Janah has been appointed as the frontman of NFME he is the current President of International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors Association (IFAWPCA) which will hold its 45th convention in 2020 at Maldives.
