Maldives Ministry of Finance has reported that the government's cumulative total of revenues and grants have reached MVR2.6 billion as of 13 February 2020.

In the ministry's Weekly Fiscal Development publication, it was reported that the cumulative total of expenditure was observed at MVR2.5 billion.

Tax revenue streams are the strongest source of income to the government which includes receipts from Tourism Goods and Services Tax (TGST), General Goods and Services Tax (GGST) along with Import Duty and BPT.

Ministry of Finance reported the overall balance for the review week was a surplus of MVR33.6 million, which had narrowed the gap due to minor differences between state revenue and expenditure figures.

Tax revenue's cumulative total was observed at MVR2.2 billion and non-tax revenue's cumulative total has reached MVR381.0 million.

As of 13 February, the government has received a total of MVR5.2 million in foreign grants.

On the other hand, recurrent expenditure has hit MVR1.6 billion while capital expenditure reached MVR903.0 million.
