Officers of the Maldives Police Services have detained a man at the Domestic Terminal of Velana International Airport.
The detained was at the terminal waiting to be boarded.
No further details of the arrest have been revealed yet.
Meanwhile, police has taken 4 people into their custody from the Capital Male’ City Tuesday evening. They were taken into police custody for possession of illicit drugs.
Moreover, it has been reported that several bottles of wine was thrown onto the street by an unidentified person who was at the balcony of a house that was being raided by the police, early Tuesday evening.
According to the Police, they collected 2 beer cans and a bottle of wine from the raided house and confirmed the arrest of 4 with respect to the case. The case is under further investigation.
The rate of illicit drug related crimes and drug busts in the Capital Male’ City is on the rise.
Meanwhile, Police is also conducting a special operation to confiscate such illicit substances.
