The Maldives Meteorological Center (MET Office) on Thursday has warned Maldives will experience bad weather for the upcoming days.
According to the weather office, the island nation will be experiencing heavy torrential rain in several parts of the country.
Although the office notified Friday will be relatively a clear day, weather is expected to worsen from the day after.
Moreover, MET Office has notified yellow alerts between Raa and Vaavu atolls.
Furthermore, the weather office claims the specified areas of the island nation will experience heavy rain accompanied with thunder and lightning.
In addition to this, MET claims wind will pick up speed between 45 miles per hour in the said areas.
Several parts of Maldives will likely experience rain in the coming 24-hour window.
The recent weather worsening has resulted in a few incidents across the island nation.
The council office of Lhaviyani atoll Naifaru experienced dismantling of the roof of their premises.
Meanwhile, Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) was actively pumping water out from the country's capital earlier on Thursday. Male' experienced flooding of roads over continuous rain the night before.
Although weather is projected to worsen in the coming days, Disaster Management Authority of Maldives claims they have not received reports of serious incidents.
