The Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection as of 12 December has reached MVR7.2 billion.

According to Ministry of Finance, while the cumulative total of tax revenues has hit MVR15.5 billion the strongest revenue stream in this segment - GST - has made a year-to-date collection of MVR7,172.4 million.

GST comprises of both Tourism Goods and Services Tax (TGST) and General Goods and Services Tax (TGST).

As per the latest statistics, TGST has reached MVR4.5 billion making it the strongest revenue churner to Maldives government.

In annual terms, Import Duty has reached a collection of MVR3,114.2 million (MVR3.1 billion) making it the second strongest income contributor to state in 2019 - so far.

GGST, which remains constant as a major contributor to state revenue has hit MVR2.7 billion making it the third strongest source in tax category of income.

Business Profit Tax (BPT) on the other hand has reached MVR2.2 billion.

While Green Tax has reached MVR794.8 million and Airport Service Charge has hit MVR680.9 million.

State's strongest non-tax revenue contributor will be the various fees and charges - which has collectively reached MVR1.6 billion (MVR1,613.9 million).

Dividends from State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) has reached MVR1,609.0 million (MVR1.6 billion) while exceeding the projected MVR874.0 million for 2019.

Rents collected from resorts have reached MVR1.5 billion while capital receipts to Maldives state as of 12 December was at MVR8.9 million.
