The Elections Commission says more than 62 percent of the total eligible voters cast their ballots an hour before voting closed in the three elections held today.
Maldivian voted in the Local Council Election along with the Women's Development Committee and the Public Referendum on holding the Presidential Election and the Parliamentary Elections concurrently.
The Commission had set the closing time for polls at 4pm initially however extended the time to 5 pm.
At 4 pm, the Commission said that out of the 294,876 eligible voters, 185,709 voters cast their ballots.
It said that this included 93,142 male voters and 92,567 female voters.
The Commission added that this accounted for 62.9 percent of all eligible voters.
