Hulhumalé (The Press) — The High Commission of India showcased a wide range of education, training, and capacity-building opportunities at its vibrant stall during Vara Expo 2025, held at Hulhumalé Central Park. The Commission expressed its honour as First Lady H.E. Madam Sajidha Mohamed graced the stall with her august presence following the inauguration ceremony of the national education and skills exhibition.

The First Lady officially inaugurated Vara Expo 2025 on Thursday evening in a ceremony attended by ministers, senior government officials, and representatives from the education and labour sectors. Organised by the Ministry of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development, the three-day event runs from 6 to 8 November, featuring 166 exhibitors including local and international universities, vocational institutes, training providers, and private-sector employers.

The Expo serves as a dynamic platform to connect students and job seekers with opportunities for education, employment, and internships, while also hosting workshops and panel discussions on skills development, labour market trends, and future readiness.

As part of the ceremony, the First Lady launched a special publication titled “Future-Ready Maldives: A New Era of Education and Skills,” highlighting the Ministry’s progress and strategic initiatives over the past two years.

During her tour of the exhibition, the First Lady stopped at several pavilions, including the High Commission of India’s stall, which drew strong interest from students and visitors eager to learn about higher education and scholarship programs in India.

The stall highlighted India’s growing role as a regional hub for quality education, technical training, and professional development, offering Maldivian youth access to world-class institutions and capacity-building opportunities.

The High Commission invited visitors to explore the wide range of study and training avenues available through #VaraExpo2025, reaffirming India’s continued commitment to strengthening educational and people-to-people ties between the two countries.

“Excellent education, training, and capacity-building opportunities in India! We are honoured that First Lady H.E. Madam Sajidha Mohamed graced our stall with her esteemed presence,” the High Commission stated.
