President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has emphasised the vital role of the Dhivehi language in fostering a sense of national identity and cultural unity.

The President stressed that preserving and promoting the Dhivehi language is a matter of cultural pride and a cornerstone of the nation’s sovereignty and independence. The President underscored the significance of language as a fundamental symbol of nationhood, remarking on the blessings of having a unique language and script to communicate.
President Dr Muizzu also acknowledged that the Dhivehi language embodies the spirit of the Maldivian people, representing centuries of customs, beliefs, and the rich culture that defines the Maldives.
