External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar engaged in several key discussions on the sidelines of the Raisina Dialogue 2025, further advancing India's diplomatic outreach on the global stage.

During the event, he met Ghana’s Foreign Minister, Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa, to explore opportunities for strengthening their development partnership and enhancing South-South cooperation. The two leaders focused on boosting economic collaboration and fostering engagement among nations of the Global South.

In a lighter moment, Jaishankar also met former New Zealand cricketer Ross Taylor, celebrating the strong cultural bonds between India and New Zealand. Jaishankar remarked, “A Raisina bonus! Pleasure to meet the great New Zealand batsman Ross L Taylor.”

On Ireland’s National Day, Jaishankar extended heartfelt greetings to Tanaiste and Foreign Minister Simon Harris. He noted that his recent visit to Ireland provided a valuable opportunity to renew their bilateral ties and strengthen their relationship.

Jaishankar also engaged with Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Stenergard to discuss expanding India’s ties with the European Union. He shared, “Pleased to meet FM Maria Stenergard of Sweden this morning. We discussed deepening our engagement with the EU.”

The minister further met with New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Christopher Luxon, acknowledging his commitment to deepening the longstanding ties between their two countries.

These meetings reflect India’s ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic relations and engage with global leaders on critical international issues.

The Raisina Dialogue is an annual conference dedicated to geopolitics and geoeconomics, aimed at addressing the world’s most pressing challenges. Modeled after the Shangri-La Dialogue, it forms a key part of India’s “intelligence diplomacy,” which, while often behind the scenes, plays a pivotal role in the nation’s national security strategy alongside the diplomatic and military services.

The Dialogue is structured as a multi-stakeholder forum, bringing together heads of state, cabinet ministers, and local government officials, in addition to thought leaders from the private sector, media, and academia. The event is hosted by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) in collaboration with India’s Ministry of External Affairs. (ANI)
