President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed his Administration's strategic outlook towards national planning and bringing in results, stressing that the Administration will not announce or carry out any projects without first ascertaining their long-term feasibility and results.
He made the statement while speaking to the residents of Muraidhoo, during his ongoing tour of the atoll.
The President added that the developmental aims and plans, including long- and short-term plans, would be publicly disclosed.
Stressing that he prioritizes a citizen-centric approach, the President said his approach is to identify the public's needs and address them. He added that the Administration had already begun work to expedite those projects that are currently halted for various reasons. President Dr Muizzu expressed his confidence that such projects and planned ones would be carried out successfully.
Reflecting on the planned developmental projects for Muraidhoo Island, the President said that harbor expansion was the most pressing need for the island. As such, this year would see the fulfillment of that pledge, as well as the commencement of the road construction project.
The President pledged to prioritize the health, sports, and education sectors of the island, fulfilling the Administration's pledge to grant equal access to health, wellness, and education for all.
Before the community meeting, the President had attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Police Station and Council Secretariat on Muraidhoo Island.
During the event, the Bank of Maldives and the Muraidhoo Island Council signed an agreement to establish an ATM on the island.
