Police have confirmed that they have sent the body of the 4-month-old baby who died suddenly in Kaafu Guraidhoo for an autopsy.

Police said that they had sent the body of the baby to India for the autopsy and that the flight had departed this afternoon.

The Police added that the case was reported to them on the 14th of this month.

A member of the Guraidhoo Council named Ibrahim Shaleez said to the 'Press' that the child was rushed to the Health Center around 12:30 that night when the baby was found unresponsive.

He cited the Health Center to confirm that the baby was declared dead on arrival at the center.

Shazeel further said that Council members also arrived at the Health Center and were assisting in the burial of the baby. However, he said that a police launch arrived at 3 in the morning to claim the body of the deceased child, and transferred the body to Male' for further investigation.

He also said that the baby had no physical injuries but that the baby's nose was bleeding.
