Housing Development Corporation HDC has resumed the reclamation work for Rasmale'.
In a post on X, HDC announced that it had resumed work for Rasmale' F. HDC described this as a step forward in the community’s growth and development.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu officially inaugurated Ras Malé last December, marking the commencement of the nation's most extensive land reclamation project ever.
The reclamation was awarded to Sri Lanka's capital Marine and Civil Construction in exchange for lands in the Maldives. However, the government has now canceled the contract after it decided not to give lands in the Maldives to the Sri Lankan company.
HDC did not reveal any more information regarding the resumption of the work.
