A man has been arrested for the possession of a counterfeit MVR 500 note.
Authorities arrested 54-year-old Abdullah Saeed of Maafannu Raililly Ge under a court-issued arrest warrant.
The arrest warrant said that there was enough evidence to suggest that Saeed committed the crime. The suspect has attempted to break the fake note at a cafe'.
When he was taken for his remand hearing, the suspect denied the accusations. Saeed said in court that he did not know that the note he wanted to break was fake and that he had gone to break the note because someone had asked him to do so.
The Court remanded the suspect in police custody for three days.
