Police have arrested a woman for assault with a sharp object and property damage.
The woman is a 30-year-old from Thaa Atoll Thimarafushi.
The Criminal Court has remanded the suspect in 15 days in police custody.
The Court said in its arrest warrant that enough evidence was submitted to the court against the suspect. It noted that a cutter was found on her person when she was detained and the victim of the crime had been attacked with a cutter.
However, the suspect denied assaulting the victim and insisted that she went to the Crime Scene to retrieve a phone.
Sources have reported that this is the same suspect who attacked a smartphone shop clerk with a sharp object an year ago and also has a criminal record.
