Police have arrested a local man after the suspect hit a woman on the head with a brick.
They said that the incident was reported around midnight last night from the southern island of Villigilli from Gaafu Alifu Atoll. Police said that the victim is a 46-year-old woman and that she was treated at the hospital for her injuries. Police added that the victim was discharged following her treatment.
Police also said that a 32-year-old man has been apprehended in the case and that they are further investigating the incident. It is not clear why the suspect assaulted the victim and Police did not disclose the nature of the relationship between the victim and the assailant.
Yesterday, Police arrested a man in Fuvamulah City who had assaulted his ex-wife. The arrest came after reports circulated on social media that the man had entered the house his ex-wife was living in and assaulted her as well as damaged some properties in the house.
