Police say they are seeking more victims who may have been scammed by Megatron Motors with the promise of importing vehicles.
They said that the Economic Crime Department of the police was investigating the allegations of a scam made against Megatron Motors Maldives Wave International and that the investigation wanted to rule out any more victims of the fraud.
Police requested individuals who have paid to buy vehicles from Megatron Motors to contact them via the Economic Crime Department through 9790048 before the 30th of this month.
Police also thanked those who are cooperating with them during their investigation. This is the 2nd time the Police have requested victims of the scam to come forward with the first request coming last month.
During the first time, Police clarified that victims would be those who had paid for imported vehicles from abroad and had yet to receive their purchased product from the company.
Vehicle sale fraud and scams are also growing common in the Maldives with such cases prosecuted in the country.
Such cases include the promise to purchase vehicles like Buggies, pickups, and cars.
