The Government has initiated the elevator installation project at Hiya Towers in Hulhumale' Phase II.
Housing Minister Dr. Ali Haidhar and Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation HDC Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed inaugurated the project at a ceremony held today at the Hiya Flats.
Under this project, two additional and spacious lifts would be installed at each tower. As per President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's presidential pledge one of the flats would be big enough to accommodate a stretcher while the other one is expected to carry 14 people at once.
Speaking at the ceremony, Fazul said the hope is to complete this project within one year. He assured that HDC would always work to eliminate the hurdles faced by the general public and results would be seen once all the planned work is accomplished.
